The Johannesburg Branch of the Society of Radiographers of South Africa is just one of seven regional branches throughout the country the others being Belville, Bloemfontein, Cape Town, Kwa-Zulu Natal (Durban) Port Elizabeth and Pretoria.
Most of the members of the Johannesburg Branch live and work in the greater Johannesburg area including Krugersdorp to the west, Springs to the east, Vereeniging to the south and Sandton to the north. We also have members in Klerksdorp, Lenasia, Orkney, and Carltonville, as well George in the Western Cape and not forgetting to mention Al Ain in the United Arab Emerites, Riyadh in Saudi Arabia and North Carolina in the USA.
The Johannesburg Branch Committee consists of Radiographers with busy careers who voluntary give of their time to representing all 4 modalities: Diagnostic, Therapy, Ultrasound and Nuclear Medicine. There is also a Branch secretary who attends to administrative matters as well as a Branch treasurer who deals with all the aspects of membership although all the committee members are well versed in membership criteria. Any modality query can be directed to the specific representative who has been elected onto the committee as an expert in their scope of practice.
Your membership to this regional branch will include 2 issues of the official journal of the Society of Radiographers of South Africa, namely “The South African Radiographer”, one Branch newsletter and one National newsletter in each calendar year. Reduced registration fees to the Branch’s CPD accredited Seminars. You will also be kept informed on up-coming National and International Congresses.
